Established in 1978 by Dr Abdelhalim Ibrahim, Professor of Architectural design and Theory at Cairo University.CDC Abdelhalim is renowned throughout the Middle East by its adoption of new approaches in design, innovative methods of construction and awareness of the historical and cultural settings of each project. CDC Abdelhalim’s objectives is to enhance the process of design by understanding the function of the building, filling the program requirements and understanding the community and context as well as the surrounding fabric of the site. CDC basis its designs on Abdelhalim Ibrahim's philosophy "The Building Ceremony"; an anthropological architecture theory embedded in community rituals exclusive to each society.
