CCIU is the leading educational organization in Central Connecticut promoting religious literacy, understanding, and cooperation. We are made up of representatives of nine world religions which have members in our region. Our efforts include a ground-breaking professional development seminar for high school social studies teachers that enables them to include studies of the world's religions as part of their courses so that students can understand them in relationship to the cultures and issues in which they are involved. CCIU's motto is "When we understand each other more, we hurt each other less."
