The IFRS Foundation was created in 2001 to develop standards used globally forfinancial reporting that improve the communication between companies and investors. More than 140jurisdictionsrequire use of IFRS Accounting Standards and almost40jurisdictions around the world are also starting to use IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, issued in 2023. The IFRSFoundationTrusteesare responsible for organisational strategy, governance and oversight of the IASB and the ISSB, and are accountable to a Monitoring Board of public authorities.
