Cathedral is a specialist publisher of information for conservation and the built environment, in print and on the web. Established in June 1992 by Elizabeth Coyle-Camp, Gordon Sorensen and Jonathan Taylor in response to the lack of information on products and services for the conservation of historic buildings, Cathedral Communications Limited launched the first edition of The Building Conservation Directory six months later to immediate acclaim. In addition to the Directory, Cathedral publishes Historic Churches and the Building Conservation website BuildingConservation.com. Publications produced for other organisations include: The Archaeologist and the CIfA Client Guide for the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists; The IHBC Yearbook and the journal Context for the Institute of Historic Building Conservation; Discovery and Excavation in Scotland for Archaeology Scotland; and Heritage Now for Historic Buildings and Places (as the Ancient Monuments Society is now known).
