The C.A.T. Group is a general contractor providing integrated procurement and construction services for pipelines, mechanical, heavy civil, infra-structural and building projects in the Middle East and Africa. History in Qatar When C.A.T. started to work in Qatar in 1948 few foreign contracting firms were operating in this part of the world. C.A.T. built all Qatar Petroleum Company installations in Qatar during the late forties and fifties as well as the first landmark projects in Qatar’s construction history, to name a few: •Qatar’s first international airport. •Palace of His Highness the Ruler of Qatar. •Qatar’s first jetty / harbour work which paved the way for the export of the first barrel of oil from Qatar in 1949. •Qatar’s first modern hospital in Rumaillah and the iconic Emiri Diwan Clock Tower both built by C.A.T. in the 1950s and 1960s are still standing today. The C.A.T. Group has re-entered Qatar in 2005 and established its local subsidiary, C.A.T. International Qatar W.L.L. as part of its vision to revive its market share in Qatar. Several prestigious projects have been successfully executed since then including the Chilled Water Network of West Bay, Porto Arabia Townhouses, Retails & Podiums, the largest Integrated District Cooling Plant in the World at The Pearl Qatar, the Central Utility Plants 2, 3 & 4 of the New Doha International Airport, the Infrastructure & Utility tunnels of Phase 1A at Msheireb Downtown Doha, and many others. C.A.T. is certified as Grade A Qatari Contractor by the Qatari Central Tendering Committee.
