The Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute (CASI) is a not-for-profit scientific and technical organization. Founded in 1954, the mission of the Institute is to advance the art, science and engineering relating to aeronautics, astronautics and associated technologies, and to nurture and promote the professionalism of those engaged in these pursuits. Membership is graded to reflect career progression, from Junior Member to Fellow. CASI provides its members an international network of contacts and access to a wealth of technical and professional information. CASI members may affiliate with one of seven special interest Sections and may attend meetings at Branches across Canada. While Branch activities vary each has a program of regular meetings, invited speakers, site visits and social events that afford an excellent opportunity for professional development and networking. CASI holds workshops, conferences and symposia that draw delegates from Canada and around the world. Presenting papers at CASI conferences, delivering programs at Branch meetings, and serving on CASI committees and Branch executives are more ways membership in CASI brings professional and personal recognition. CASI confers prestigious awards each year to recognize achievement in aviation and air operations, engineering research and development, leadership in policy making and planning, and space endeavours. CASI also awards two scholarships each year to outstanding university students.
