Cashvert is like a dating site (and app) just for swapping cash in different currencies. Use it to set up a meeting with someone near you who has the currency you want - and wants the currency you have. The cost to each customer of retail currency exchange (whether it’s through unfriendly buy/sell exchange rates or a commission or both) can easily be 10% for major currencies (eg US$, Euro) and 50% for less common currencies. We think the cost of changing a bit of cash should be a lot lower. Cashvert significantly reduces the cost of small-scale foreign cash exchange for regular people, only charging a small fee (1-2% of the cash value being exchanged) for setting up a ‘date’. After that, you can just swap your cash with the other real person at the mid-rate (the rate right in the middle of the banks’ buy and sell rates).
