Cascade Compost is a subsidiary of Sunland Bark & Topsoils Co. A Washington corporation that is located at 12469 Reservation rd. Anacortes, Washington. Our state certified facility was built in Skagit County, Washington in February of 2003. We create a 100% organic compost using chicken manure, fir sawdust, and cellulose pulp as the ingredients. These materials are blended together and mechanically mixed, then placed in bunkers (capacity 225 cubic yards) and oxygenized until reaching temperatures above 135 degrees Fahrenheit. The compost is held for two weeks at these temperatures and then rotated into another bunker where it is held from 1-10 days. Then the product is removed to a holding area or delivered to organic farms where it is applied to soil for crop growing.
