CARTS (Corporation for Automated Road Transportation Safety) is a non-partisan, nonprofit think tank advancing safe, affordable automated mobility. We study how autonomous vehicles and next-generation transportation systems can be deployed safely, governed wisely, and made accessible to all — bridging emerging mobility technology and the public institutions responsible for its oversight. Areas of focus: • AV Policy & Research: independent analysis of legislation, regulatory frameworks, and safety governance shaping automated mobility • Community Deployment: first-hand experience leading AV transit pilots, informing how automated mobility works on real streets • EV & Infrastructure: charging networks, intelligent transportation systems, and the physical and digital foundations of next-generation communities • Convening & Education: bringing together government, industry, and academia to accelerate responsible deployment We work with community organizations, healthcare and education systems, public agencies, research institutions, and industry partners who share our commitment to a safe and equitable automated future.
