Founded forty-eight years ago by Jerry Lohr and still family owned and operated today, J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines grows, produces, and bottles a full line of internationally recognized wines from its more than 4,000 acres of Certified California Sustainable estate vineyards in Monterey County’s Arroyo Seco and Santa Lucia Highlands appellations, Paso Robles, and St. Helena in Napa Valley. Offering an expressive range of styles that showcase its estate fruit, J. Lohr crafts eight tiers of award-winning wines: J. Lohr Signature Cabernet Sauvignon, J. Lohr Cuvée Series, J. Lohr Vineyard Series, J. Lohr Gesture, J. Lohr Pure Paso™ Proprietary Red Wine, J. Lohr Estates, J. Lohr Monterey Roots, and ARIEL Vineyards.
For the past 50 years, Ridge has championed a pre-industrial approach to single-vineyard winemaking, searching California for those rare vineyards where climate, soil, and varietal are ideally matched. Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon account for most of the production; syrah, grenache, and carignane constitute the balance. Known primarily for its red wines, Ridge has also made limited amounts of chardonnay since 1962.
At Carmel Valley Ranch, we believe wholeheartedly that play is the elixir of life. It’s the essential other half of the work/life balance—the better half. But in our hectic, stress-filled lives, it’s not often enough that we let our shoulders down and tap into that inner child who simply asks “why not?”
Tucked among the foothills of the Santa Lucia Mountains, Carmel Valley Ranch is a place to do just that.
True to its name, The Ranch is a 500-acre playground filled with unique ranch-style experiences, a rugged yet refined setting that has been named one of the top resorts in Northern California in Condé Nast Traveler’s prestigious Readers’ Choice Awards.
Perfect for families, couples, and events of all kinds, luxuries abound at this all-suite resort—including an expansive spa, Pete Dye–designed golf course, tennis and pickleball courts, unique artisan experiences, and more. Natural wonders await just outside your door, too: You can meet a whole herd of friendly animals, including alpacas, donkeys, horses, and cows (it is a ranch, after all). Feed our goats in the morning before heading to our Creamery in the afternoon to sample the artisan cheese we make from their milk. Savor cuisine crafted with ingredients grown just steps away in our Organic Garden, and wines made with grapes from our vineyard.
At The Ranch, every day is filled with a sense of discovery and adventure—along with endless opportunities to play your way.
