Carrierrate.com provides tracking information using EDI 214 X12 4020 format (Shipment status Transaction).Tracking information contains origin and destination addresses, current location of shipment and estimated time of delivery. EDI 214 X12 format can be used by transportation carriers to provide shippers, consignees and their agents with the status of shipments, including dates, times, locations, route, identifying numbers, as well as information concerning shipments in transit. Using the EDI's given by the carriers, Carrierrate.com is given full information on their customers' shipments. Globaltranz provides the EDI 214 to customers to advise them of their shipment status. Globaltranz provides EDI through FTP; we provide the setup of FTP accounts for the EDI. To see what services carrierrate.com offers and what they do, you have to access the WSDL file for web service. To get the WSDL file, click here. This WSDL file explains the methods given for access, what information they provide, and gives information on what kind of input data is required. After getting the WSDL file you can create proxies for services as your programming language supports.
