Caring Corner Information

Caring Corner is a licensed Pediatric Day Health Care (PDHC) center in Bakersfield, California, serving medically fragile children from infancy through age 21 and beyond. PDHC fills a gap the system rarely covers well. Families of children with complex medical needs are often left choosing between in-home nursing that isolates the child and programs that can't safely accept them at all. Caring Corner is built to be neither — a licensed medical setting staffed by pediatric nurses, structured like a place a kid actually wants to be. CLINICAL CAPABILITIES Tracheostomy care, ventilator support, oxygen therapy, G-tube and NG feedings, seizure management, medication administration, and wound care — provided on-site by licensed nursing staff. PROGRAMS - Preschool (ages 0–5) with developmentally appropriate instruction - After-school care with full medical support - Weekend and overnight respite care (Friday–Sunday) - Transitional care for young adults 21+ - Open 7 days a week, including most school holidays FOR REFERRING PARTNERS We work with hospital discharge planners, case managers, regional center coordinators, pediatricians, and school district teams to place children who need skilled nursing during the day — without putting their education or development on hold.
