Cardiac Kids Foundation of Florida Information

The Mission of the Cardiac Kids Foundation of Florida is to provide assistance to families, and their children with heart disease. In addition, we fund medical research, education, and charitable health care for children with heart disease through local charitable initiatives and life saving mission trips. Support is provided in the form of financial help and assistance to those families who can not afford prescription medications post surgery, as well as travel related expenses for the related families of hospitalized children. Our main research project involves the archiving and unification of worldwide terms through The International Society of Nomenclatures for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease. This is a tool that will assist Cardiac Surgeons throughout the world, now and well into the future. A portion of our assistance goes beyond financial and involves the actual surgeries, training, education and supply of equipment to communities who otherwise would not have this available to them. For example, our yearly Jamaican Mission Trip, headed up by Dr. Jeffrey Jacobs and his team, is currently responsible for saving countless lives through his efforts. The Larry King Cardiac Foundation has been a huge supporter of these annual trips.
