Mortgage Loan Originators spend the bulk of their time where it matters most - serving our clients. Job Description - Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) - Sales position required to proactively solicit new residential mortgage business and sell mortgage products. MLOs must identify, develop and maintain a network of business relationships in order to establish referral sources for new mortgage lending opportunities. The network typically consists of real estate professionals, home builders, professional and personal contacts, as well as other valuable referral sources. MLOs should consider regular participation in business related development opportunities, community efforts to promote homeownership and professional organizations. The MLO must respond to customer inquiries and referrals that are generated from their own contacts. The MLO conducts interviews with prospective borrowers in order to analyze financial and credit data, determines customer financing objectives, advises customers of product/ pricing and guidelines, and gathers any additional required information. The MLO must ensure exceptional customer service by maintain thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, demonstrating a commitment to professional ethics and complying with all federal and state compliance policies. The MLO will monitor the loan process from origination to close and provide communication to customers and business partners.
