In 1986, Harpoon co- founders Rich Doyle and Dan Kenary began brewing Harpoon in Boston to share with others the joy of making—and drinking—great beer. In 2000, we added a second brewery in Windsor, VT to keep up with the demand. We are passionate about our company and our beer, and we work each day together to create great beer drinking experiences. This passion has resulted in many changes throughout the years including our most recent announcement in August of 2014 to become an employee owned company. Though many things have changed since the early days of Harpoon, most things have stayed the same. We still love brewing beer and find that we enjoy it more when shared with friends.
Harpoon has over 300 employees who understand that making great beer fun can be more challenging – and more rewarding - than it seems. We do things a bit differently here; different from other companies in general and different from most of our fellow brewers. Different in this case does not mean more complex or harder to understand. Because we also believe in being simple and straightforward. We have a very short list of ‘philosophies’ that underline how we run our business:
• Treat others as we would like to be treated ourselves.
• Work like an owner and think like a customer.
• Make great beer and revel in it or as we say to the rest of the world: Love Beer. Love Life.
We love the beer we brew, and we love drinking it together. We’re looking for people who share a commitment to excellence and a sense of humor to join our growing team.
Cisco Brewers Inc. is a craft beer company established in 1995 on the beautiful island of Nantucket. We strive to perfect the essence of craft beer and have fun doing it! Our Nantucket location is a hallmark getaway; live music, libations, food trucks, and families fill our beer garden 365 days a year. Cisco Brewers Nantucket is also the location of Triple Eight Distillery and Nantucket Vineyard.
Since its humble beginnings on island, Cisco has expanded to a brewing facility and brewpub in Portsmouth, NH, a seasonal beer garden in Boston's Seaport District, an oceanside kitchen and beer garden in New Bedford, MA, and many Cisco locations to come!
Our employees fully embody the Cisco lifestyle of inclusivity, environmental awareness, sociability, and responsibility. Cisco Brewers fosters an environment and strives for employees who take beer and the company seriously but not themselves. Cheers!
What started in 1996 as a small group of home brewers who simply wanted to make great beer evolved into the team of adventurers known today as Ballast Point. From bringing a hoppy twist to a porter, or adding four types of malt to its amber ale, to creating a breakthrough gold-medal winning IPA, the San Diego-based company is known for adding its own touch and asking if there’s a better way. Not satisfied with just brewing great beer, they got into the distilling business to see if they could add our own spin to another centuries-old craft. Today an internationally recognized leader in the craft brewing and spirits industry, the company makes over 50 styles of beer and bottles 14 spirits.
