Zurich Ventures was founded in 2001 - in the midst of the dot com bubble - because in spite of the hype and the crash good ideas were still being created and companies needed to be formed and run well. In fact, when capital is difficult to obtain it menas the companies that make it are often time better, more likely to succeed and a better bet. Many great companies were formed during "bust cycles". Now we find ourselves back in a similar situation again: we think many good companies will be formed these days as well! Zurich Ventures was formed by Brian P Phillips. he has been in the business of growing technology startups since 1981, when as a 22 year-old Computer Science Senior he co-founded a company that they took public a few years later on the NASDAQ through a reverse shell merger and from then on he was hooked on startups. As a result he has a wealth of experience as he has personally be involved in the founding or early days of a dozen startups, some of which failed, 2 that went public and 2 that were eventually acquired by public companies.
