Canor is a unique data-over-audio medium which allows the secure transmission of information between a source and a theoretically infinite amount of end-points. Canor transcribes data into sound (~3 seconds long), which is distributed via speakers. In order for someone to receive and interpret this data, all they will need is a device with a Canor endpoint, such as the Canor app. The Canor endpoints would detect the sounds emitted by the speakers and then decode these sound waves using an algorithm built into the endpoints. The power of using data over sound is that the transmission has a range that extends as far as sound can be projected. Thus, this technology has far less friction than other data mediums, and the average transmission would have a range far greater than other local data-sharing methods such as Bluetooth, QR, NFC or WifiDirect. The power of Canor’s SmartSounds is that their range is limited solely by the power of the speakers that emit them.
