At Make-A-Wish® America, we are more than a great place to work – our work is life-changing. We are an inclusive and diverse group of people who, through a mosaic of backgrounds, thoughts and experiences, are united in purposeful work. We are fueled and guided by our values – values that are represented in the inspired people we work with and the transformational work we do, every day.
Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Make-A-Wish is the world’s leading children’s wish-granting organization, serving children in every community in the U.S. and in 50 countries worldwide. More than 40 years ago the inspiration for Make-A-Wish began with one little boy’s wish to be a police officer. Today, together with our volunteers, donors, staff and supporters, Make-A-Wish has granted more than 500,000 life-changing wishes and transformed countless lives worldwide.
There is nothing more powerful than making a child’s wish come true. And at Make-A-Wish, we will stop at nothing to ensure every eligible child received a life-changing wish. We believe – and research shows – that a wish gives kids the resilience, courage and strength they need to fight their critical illnesses. A wish doesn’t signify an end or one happy moment in time … a wish truly has the power to transform lives. This is why wishes matter. This is Make-A-Wish.
Mission: Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
Founded in 1988 by Paul Newman, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp provides “a different kind of healing” to more than 25,000 seriously ill children and family members annually – all completely free of charge. For many of these children and families, Hole in the Wall provides multiple Camp experiences throughout the year at the facility in Ashford, Conn., in 40 hospitals and clinics, directly in camper homes and communities, and through other outreach activities across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
Our Mission
Roundup River Ranch offers children with life-altering diagnoses, and their families, opportunities to embrace joy, create connection, foster independence, and build hope through free, medically-supported camp programs.
Our Vision
Where illness and medical complexities take a backseat to ordinary, and extraordinary childhood experiences.
For kids with life-altering diagnoses (and their awesome families), we provide extraordinary camp experiences where illness and medical complexities take a backseat to ordinary, and extraordinary childhood experiences. Campers come to us from across Colorado, and we also welcome campers from neighboring states in the Rocky Mountain region. But we don’t stop there. Our Outreach Programs bring the magic of camp beyond our physical campsite, reaching campers in their homes, online spaces, hospital rooms, and more, ensuring that the healing power of camp is never out of reach.
Our Superhero Volunteers Make it All Possible
It takes a lot of big hearts and willing hands to keep up with so many vibrant, excited, deserving campers and their families. Our amazing volunteers support Roundup River Ranch through both people-power and cost savings. Whether you’re maintaining our outdoor spaces, assisting in the kitchen, refreshing cabins in between sessions, serving as a cabin counselor, or offering support and encouragement, there’s a place for you to make a difference.
