Canadian Contemporary School of Art Information

The Canadian Contemporary School of Art (CCSA) offers art classes for tots, kids, teens, and adults. Each class is designed especially for each age group with a contemporary touch. The CCSA provides a warm and welcoming environment for students to learn in by nurturing the artist in every one. At CCSA, we believe in creativity as an educational tool. With classes led by practicing artists, our program encourages a child’s natural ability to be curious when engaging with the world. This type of experiential learning creates opportunities of self-expression, calculated risk-taking, and open-minded inquiry that can help children be more resourceful and confident when faced with life’s challenges, big and small. By nurturing the artists in every child, classes at CCSA help to plant the seeds of lifelong creativity.Our classes include: painting, sculpting, textile printing, fashion design, cartooning, animation, filmmaking, puppetry, architecture, and photography. From learning about lines, shapes, colour, and composition, these classes build on basic creative skillsets applicable to everyday life and help them develop the foundations to make art a lifelong hobby. Our school also offers portfolio preparation for candidates interested in pursuing art and design in college or university, or as professionals.
