For 40 years, Camp Sunshine has provided hope, joy and community through unique experiences for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. At our pristine campus on Sebago Lake in Maine, more than 60,000 children, siblings, parents, and caregivers from all 50 states and 27 countries have come together for fun-filled, year-round sessions with families just like theirs. And, thanks to the incredible support of donors and volunteers, our programs are 100% free. Since 1969, Treetops School has been cultivating something rare: an educational sanctuary where rigorous academics intertwine seamlessly with the natural world. Here, mathematics unfolds through measuring tree circumferences and calculating growth patterns. Reading comprehension deepens as students journal their observations of seasonal changes. Science lessons transform into discoveries beneath magnifying glasses on dewy mornings. Our outdoor classroom isn’t a field trip—it’s daily life. Students don’t just study ecosystems; they inhabit them. They track weather patterns, tend gardens, observe wildlife, and understand their place in the interconnected web of life. These aren’t breaks from “real learning”—this IS learning at its most authentic. There’s something grounding about learning in nature’s classroom. Camp Cedar is a residential boys' summer camp located on Coffee Pond in Casco, ME. Camp Cedar provides a full seven-week program that includes sports instruction, trips and traditional camping activities. For over 65 years, generations of families have considered Camp Cedar a home away from home.
