YMCA of the USA is the national resource office for the nation's YMCAs. Headquartered in Chicago, IL, YMCA of the USA exists to serve YMCAs. To address the specific needs of communities, each YMCA is an independent organization, autonomous and separate from YMCA of the USA. They are required by the national constitution to pay annual dues, to refrain from discrimination and to support the YMCA mission. All other decisions are local choices, including programs offered, staffing and style of operation. Kesem is a nationwide community, driven by passionate college student leaders, that supports children through and beyond their parent’s cancer. Kesem is the largest national organization dedicated to supporting children impacted by a parent’s cancer, at no cost to families. Our innovative and fun-filled programs provide children with peers who understand their unique needs, and create long-lasting impact. Camp Kesem at UCLA supports over 260 campers from the Greater Los Angeles area. We are driven by over 100 student volunteers from UCLA who plan, organize, and execute two weeks of camp every year!
