Founded in 1988 by Paul Newman, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp provides “a different kind of healing” to more than 25,000 seriously ill children and family members annually – all completely free of charge. For many of these children and families, Hole in the Wall provides multiple Camp experiences throughout the year at the facility in Ashford, Conn., in 40 hospitals and clinics, directly in camper homes and communities, and through other outreach activities across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
The Painted Turtle is a nonprofit year-round camp for children with serious medical conditions and a member of the SeriousFun Children's Network, founded by Paul Newman. All families and campers attend camp programs free of charge.
The Painted Turtle seeks to reach beyond illness, to inspire children with serious medical conditions to become their greater selves. Our mission is to provide a year-round life-changing environment for these children and their families-- one that allows children to participate in an authentic camp experience by supporting their medical needs and offers their families care, education, and respite.
Children's Harbor was established in 1996. We are a nationally accredited child welfare organization located in Pembroke Pines, FL that is dedicated to three very specific priorities:
1) Keeping siblings together while they are in foster care.
2) Strengthening families who are in crisis within our community.
3) Guiding teens who are aging out of the foster care.
We keep kids safe while their families are given the opportunity to heal and if that is no longer a possibility and they are not able to return home safely, we become their family. We come alongside them, resource and support them until they can reach a point of self-sufficiency
We provide residential services in a family-style setting for foster children and community-based services for the prevention and intervention of abuse and neglect. Our Residential Foster Care Program provides a safe and loving home-like environment, while keeping brothers and sisters, and pregnant or parenting teens, together while in the foster care system.
Our Family Strengthening Program sends counselors out into homes in Broward County communities to work with the families and prevent the removal of children from the homes.
At our Brown's Harbor Campus we provide subsidized housing for youth transitioning out of foster care. Residents receive wrap around case management services and monthly programming.
