Cambrillón (Spanish) refers to a specialised part of a shoe that’s invisible to the naked eye and never actually touches the ground. It’s a small, narrow piece of shaped, hardened leather, specifically placed inside the sole of the shoe. Despite being invisible however, the cambrillón is actually the most important element in a well-made shoe – experts say that a good, strong cambrillón is the real difference between a well-made shoe and a poorer quality one.
