The Cambridge Commonwealth, European & International Trust was established on 1 August 2013 from the merger of the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and the Cambridge Overseas Trust. These Trusts were established as charities by the University of Cambridge in the 1980s in order to provide financial support for international students on degree courses at Cambridge. The Trust awards around 500 scholarships annually, and supports around 1100 students in residence each year from across the world. The Trust is the largest provider of funding for international students at Cambridge, working with partners worldwide to support students of outstanding academic merit under a variety of scholarship schemes. The Trust has 13 members of staff, led by a Director, and is governed by a board of Trustees. His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is the Trust’s Patron.
