Calvary Presbyterian Church is actively committed to making an impact in our community. The mission of this congregation is to equip people to love God and our neighbors with all our "heart, mind, soul and strength! We are committed to following Christ as disciples as we serve the Kingdom of God. Sunday Morning Prayer convenes at 9:30 a.m. each week to pray for the day's service as well as concerns from the congregation, our neighborhood and the world. Sermon Talk Back meets every Sunday after coffee time, from 11:30-12:00 to delve more deeply into the day's Scripture and sermon with a focus on personal application. This 30-minute forum offers an open, give-and-take discussion where questions and doubts are welcomed and honesty is valued. Tuesday Night Bible Study offers in-depth biblical and theological study. Sometimes video-based, sometimes book-based, participants engage in lively study and discussions intended to increase biblical knowledge for the sake of its impact on our lives. Presbyterian Women meet monthly for Bible study and fellowship. Circle One meets the first Tuesday of every month at 1 p.m. The Hazel Circle meets the first Sunday of each month following Sermon Talk Back. Life Transformation Groups of 3-5 people convene for 7 weekly sessions. A curriculum such as Jesus' 7 "I Am" statements or Jesus' 7 miraculous signs in the Gospel of John are studied using specific "life transformation" questions. These groups may meet on- or off-site and are easily transferrable to home or office settings. Eagles' Wings is Calvary's award-winning tutoring program. Now in its 27th year, Eagles' Wings offers one-to-one tutoring for selected 3rd-6th grade students from next-door Mt. Eagle Elementary School. Students and tutors meet every Wednesday evening that school is in session from October through May. Tutors assist students with homework assignments as well as reading and math skills.
