CBB will also comply with all of the requirements of AB 774 when it becomes operative in January, 2007. However, as noted above, under the law, it is up to the hospital to first determine whether a patient is financially qualified to participate in these programs, as well as to discount the bill and to delay assignment to a collection agency, if appropriate. It is also up to the hospital to notify the collection agency that this has been done and as to the determination which has been made by the hospital, as well as efforts to date to resolve the claim.
