CalgaryToSpace Information

CalgaryToSpace is a student-led organization based out of the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary. The team has successfully designed and assembled FrontierSat, a 3U CubeSat which launched into orbit on May 3, 2026 as Calgary's first student-engineered spacecraft. The team has progressed to mission operations of FrontierSat as well as design of the next satellite project. FrontierSat carries high-tech science payloads developed by researchers at the University of Calgary and will demonstrate their long-term capabilities in orbit for the first time. As the only student team in Calgary currently working on real spacecraft, our goal is to encourage interest in the space and aerospace industries in our community while inspiring students with a unique and challenging mission.
