The Centre for Accessibility and Ambient Intelligence of Catalonia (CAiAC) is a Studies and Research Centre within the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), created in 2010. CAiAC is formed mainly by two complementary groups: CEPHIS from Engineering and TransMedia Catalonia from Audiovisual Translation. CAiAC belongs to the Catalan Government Network TECNIO, enjoying the many opportunities and support on offer to the members, which are considered leaders in technology research in Catalonia (Spain). CAIAC inherits and expands the technology transfer activities which started a few years back at CEPHIS. CAiAC offers their experience and know-how for business solutions in the development of innovative products in the area of multimedia and ICT. CAiAC uses state of the art technologies and research and production methodologies for fast prototypes and solutions primarily targeted at embedded systems. The centre is formed by lecturers, early stage researchers, postdoctoral fellows and technicians, all working from a multidisciplinary approach in the specification, analysis, design and implementation of prototypes and their integration in all types of industrial solutions. The multidisciplinary approach that characterizes CAiAC allows for a wide range of solutions, offering services in a world that increasingly requires a greater level of complexity. CAiAC has a user centric approach from the design process, to the production and its many contents.
