Cabdico Information

CABDICO (Capacity Building for Disability Cooperation) is a Cambodian NGO that supports the empowerment of people with disabilities in rural areas. Established in 2006, our mission is to support all people with disabilities and vulnerable people in Cambodia by responding to their basic needs in their community. CABDICO was created through the localisation of Handicap International's CABDIC program that operated between 1999 and 2005. CABIDICO works closely with the local authorities to increase the awareness of disabilities issues within the community, promote disability rights and ensure long-term sustainability of activities. CABDICO has a strong relationship with the Ministry of Social Affairs, Youth and Veterans. From 2006 to 2010 CABDICO worked in the provinces of Siem Reap and Banteay Meanchey. In 2010, Kep Provincial Authorities approached CABDICO and requested support for people with disabilities in that area. CABDICO has worked in Kep since early 2011. At the end of 2013, CABDICO closed programming in Banteay Meanchey due to the geographical difficulty of maintaining operations there. This decision was made to allow the CABDICO team to focus on the improvement and expansion of programming in Siem Reap and Kep.
