C1TV: “Queer as Folk” Information

C1TV began as a cable television network of half original programming and half acquired programming. The success of our content soon overshadowed the original plan. The top-rated "Queer as Folk" was historic. This would be the first television series in the world with a cast of main characters who were all gay. The risk and stakes were high, but it was destined. Our innovative plan was to deliver the series to a much broader mainstream audience globally. Fast forward, the franchise broke viewership and sales records worldwide making television history. The top-rated "Queer as Folk" was first broadcast in the UK on Channel 4. The American version continued to break records airing on Showtime.
