BWired Broadband Information

BWired is an empowered telecommunications service provider that has a strong focus on answering the need for affordable Internet and broadband services across the City of Johannesburg. BWired is a joint venture between Ericsson South Africa and the City of Johannesburg. This enables BWired to operate very much like a business with a soul, combining the efficiencies of a private company with the social benefits of a public entity. Our vision is to establish a citywide, high-speed broadband network that will stimulate socio-economic development throughout the City of Johannesburg and beyond. We believe this type of infrastructure will give the Joburg Metro a major competitive advantage, both within South Africa and in Sub-Saharan Africa as a whole. Furthermore, this advanced technology will attract entrepreneurs, innovators, and businesses to the region. Jhb Broadband Network , 900 km fibre core ring, 1.2 Terabyte capable
