Baron Von Opperbean and the River of Time (BVO) is an immersive adventure game experience -- like an open-world video game in a real-world space, combining physical set pieces, worlds and environments with game-engine-technology, projection-mapping and "windows" (screens) that extend the experience. When complete, BVO will be the first immersive experience of its scale in the Mid-South. BVO is being built inside the former site of Mud Island's river museum, a 33,000-sq-ft, immersive-by-design space whose floorplan snakes back on itself multiple times and includes two full-sized boats, which will be repurposed as part of the redevelopment. BVO’s experience is a rich narrative with character development, actors in costume, immersive visuals, holographic AI characters, and interactive depth.
