BUTARO HOSPITAL Information

Butaro Hospital is a Rwandan Public Hospital with the particularity of providing Oncology services for Rwandans and people from abroad. Its good view of construction shows a local made materials [volcanic stones] and a FICUS tree [shown in the Logo] that represents the preservation of Nyabingi and Abagirwa rituals (Ancient Rwandan beliefs and myths). The hospital is serving more than 350K of Burera district catchment area plus patients referred from other hospitals in Rwanda and surrounding counties: Burundi, DR Congo, Uganda and else where in Africa coming for Oncology services. Butaro Hospital lab services contains both general lab and histopathology lab. Pathology services includes telepathology network whereby a Butaro hospital pathologist can discuss on any patient's exams with other experts/specialists for further diagnosis. VISION To bring a well-designed hospital to serve the people and serves as a National Referral center in cancer care, and to serve as University teaching hospital (UGHE) MISSIONS 1.
