Located on a secluded jungle island of Bardia between two rivers, Burhan Camps is an exclusive wilderness retreat dedicated to offering a one-of-a-kind experience in Nepal. Our camp is set up in a micro conservancy style and hosts some prime wildlife species including Greater One-Horned Rhinos, Bengal Tigers, Asian wild Elephants, Smooth Coated Otters, hordes of Chittal (spotted) deers, and many birds such as Black Ibis, Ruddy Shelduck, Greater Cormorants, Nightjars, Fishing Owls, Wooly Necked Stork, and many seasonal visitors. Burhan Wilderness Camps is set up with a founding principle of ‘leaving no footprint’, and hence relies minimally on the structures on the land itself and has craftily evolved with its comforts based on efficient logistics and portables. This land is a crucial bit of the Khata Wildlife Corridor. In today’s dissected and fragmented habitat, many vulnerable and endangered species of wildlife rely on it .. we want it to be as it is. Wilderness lovers can make the best of their time while contributing to the sustained protection of this critical land for the wildlife and local communities and that is our main motto.
