Communities In Schools® (CIS®) is a national organization that ensures every student has what they need to realize their potential in school and beyond. Working directly inside more than 3,000 schools across the country, we connect students to caring adults and community resources that help them see, confront, and overcome the barriers that stand between them and a brighter future. Since 1992, Public Allies has helped thousands of underrepresented emerging leaders serve our country, get on successful pathways to higher education and careers, and bring communities together to work for the common good. Along with our Custom Leadership Labs and Civic Action Projects, we operate our signature AmeriCorps program nationwide. We also advocate and invest in our alumni network numbering in the thousands, and are a catalyst for collaboration among our several hundred nonprofit partners. Public Allies' mission is to create a just and equitable society and the diverse leadership to sustain it. We are grounded in the conviction that everyone leads — that everyone can make a difference and work to inspire more citizens to believe in themselves, step up, and act. With love and respect, YouthBuild partners with opportunity youth to build the skillsets and mindsets that lead to lifelong learning, livelihood, and leadership. Within the opportunity youth population, the YouthBuild movement primarily serves young people who lack a high school diploma and financial resources. These young people are in greatest need of our support, and they are our greatest source of untapped potential. Across hundreds of YouthBuild programs in the United States and around the globe, these young people work together to reclaim their education, gain job skills, and become leaders in their communities. YouthBuild partners with opportunity youth, and stands ready to meet them with knowledge, tools, opportunities, and love.
