Buddies Bar & Grill Information

Buddies was established in September of 2007. At age 20, owner Scott Henderson purchased the equipment of a small and struggling restaurant while working for his parents business, Berry Town Produce. The small restaurant consisted of 16 tables and a small bar room. Because of the manager and the cook of the old restaurant, Vonnie McCray and Karen Depoorter, Scott decided to renew the lease and Buddies was established. Named after Scott's Golden Retriever, Buddy, the theme became a place where friends can enjoy a casual but tasteful dinner. Taking the good qualities of the home cooked lunches the previous restaurant was producing and adding a steakhouse menu to dinner started what the Buddies brand is known for today. Because of the values Scott learned from his parents, Buddies started developing a reputation for great food and even better prices. "Our goal has always been to wow customers with our food and prices. My family has always believed in giving customers good deals for their hard earned money. Soon Buddies had a line out the door. In 2010 Scott purchased the real estate Buddies occupied along with an additional 2500 Sq ft next door and started a complete renovation of the restaurant. Buddies Bar & Grill now has 40 tables and seats up to 180 people. The new space now consists of several private rooms for parties of all sizes. In 2011, Buddies was honored with being named the best steakhouse and the best over-all restaurant in Tangipahoa parish.
