Rainbow Mission Foundation is a public benefit foundation established in 2001 by three Hungarian LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer) NGOs: Háttér Support Society for LGBT People, Labrisz Lesbian Association, and Lambda Budapest. The goal was to create a separate legal entity responsible for organizing, managing and promoting Budapest Pride, the yearly LGBTQ Cultural and Film Festival. Taken together with its founding members, Rainbow Mission Foundation has organized 17 festivals to date. Although it is the oldest festival of its kind in Eastern & Central Europe, Budapest Pride has never become a business enterprise. We are a team of activists delegated by LGBTQ organizations in Hungary.
