The Bucket List Project Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) organization, funds and operates a wish fulfillment program for individuals 18 years and older with life-limiting illnesses and limited resources. Our inspiration and first Bucket List Project wish recipient, Kenny Kozikowski, was so touched when his Palliative Care Team at Long Beach Memorial Hospital rallied together to enable him to experience his Bucket List dreams--a professional photo session and a VIP visit to the Ellen Show--that his final wish was for others to receive the same opportunity. Since Kenny's wish in 2011, dozens of unique wishes have been fulfilled. "Our goal," said Dr. Nilesh Vora, Chairman of Hematology and Medical Oncology for Memorial Medical Care Foundation and Director of Palliative Care at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, "is to bring joy by providing a memorable experience for these patients." It is our mission to continue this legacy of compassion and to never have to deny an end-of-life wish request.
