BTDarters' Mission is two-fold: 1) to provide a sustainable supply of American Native fish to the aquarium hobby and 2) to be an active participant in the conservation of these fish species. By providing a sustainable supply of these fish to the hobby, we insure that the darters and other native fish we supply will be available for future generations to enjoy because people tend to conserve what they know. Though at this time it means that we operate on a collect-and-sell basis, in the future we hope to sell fish that have been completely capitve born and raised. We are also committed to preserving the fish in their natural habitats. BTDarters keeps close tabs on the numbers of fish that we collect for sale from each location. We only take as many fish from each location as the population will allow and still be able to sustain itself.
