BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) and BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) are a joint venture between Reliance Infrastructure Limited and Govt of NCT of Delhi with a 51%:49% shareholding. BSES discoms, together, supply electricity to two-thirds of the national capital. Spread across a geographical area of around 950 sq kms, the company supplies reliable electricity to over 4.2 million consumers, covering a population base of over 10.6 million in South, West Delhi, East and Central Delhi. Since inception, BSES has taken a lead in adopting the best in class technologies and successfully brought down the losses from more than 55 % in 2002 (at the time of privatization) to the current level of below 9% - a reduction of over 45%. Today, BSES operates and manages one of the most advanced distribution networks in India to deliver reliable and quality electric supply to customers spread across its service territory.
