The ELCA is a community of faith that has a vision of a world experiencing the difference God’s grace and love in Christ makes for all people and creation. Our faith is built around a strong belief in God as made known to us in Jesus Christ. Through worship, service, and education, we practice our faith, grow our relationship with God and experience God's grace in our lives. We also work hard to put our faith into action. In today’s complex world, we strive to make a positive changes in practical, realistic ways so more people know the way of Jesus and discover community, justice and love. We are one of the largest Christian denominations in the United States, with nearly 3.3 million members in more than 9,000 worshiping communities across the 50 states and in the Caribbean region. The ELCA’s roots are in the writings of the German church reformer Martin Luther. We welcome you to experience this church right in your community. BMPC is a large congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA) with a wide variety of programs and ministries for all ages. Our campus on the Main Line, just west of Philadelphia, is busy seven days a week as a place to enjoy community and find perspective. Here, we are encouraged to ask questions as we learn and think about the Christian faith, and we are given space to open the Bible and discover greater meaning in our daily lives. On Sundays and throughout the week, we find support and enrichment, strengthen existing relationships, build new ones, and find hands-on ways to help others. We come together as a community of faith to worship, when we put all else aside to glorify God. Our beautiful Sanctuary is filled with glorious stained glass windows, a magnificent pipe organ, the music of choirs, and the Word of God. Whether you join us for worship there or in the intimacy of our Chapel, it is our hope that you will experience God's presence. Though our Sunday morning worship style and space is traditional, you'll discover that our theology is open-minded and inclusive. Called to embody Jesus' hospitality, we affirm the worth of all, regardless of race, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, or worldly condition. Our sense is that we are more fully God's people when we recognize the gift of diversity, including diverse paths to God. Grounded in worship and inspired to serve, the BMPC community offers reassurance and hope in a continually changing world.

Open Door was founded October 5th, 1969 by Pastor Ken Blue in the living room of their small block house in Mount Lake Terrace, Washington. For the first three years the church met and worshipped in several rented buildings. By God's grace and the recommendation of a dear Pastor friend, The church was able to purchase five acres of property on 44th Avenue, a main thoroughfare, in the city of Lynnwood. Through the ministry of Open Door over the years, hundreds have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and scores have surrendered for full time service in the ministry. God continues to bless each week as new families trust Jesus Christ this local-church.
