As a "Type B"​ Economic Development Corporation, the Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation (BCIC) has adopted a strategic plan that is tailored to create Brownsville, Texas into a city-destination of choice for businesses, become a leading economic development corporation in the state, promoting entrepreneurship, astropreneurship, and sports and recreational tourism to the City. BCIC is capable of expanding its impact through capital and promotional/community event projects as well as discretionary projects that align with the adopted strategic plan.
