Fortismere is a high-attaining, mixed foundation secondary school in the heart of Muswell Hill, North London. Our school is set in 20 acres, allowing students the advantage of an unusually spacious site and supporting Fortismere’s sporting excellence. With a strong focus on progress, our vision champions high aspirations whilst ensuring that we all contribute to raising achievement of students, whatever their starting point. We believe that there should be no barriers that exclude any child from accessing the best opportunities. Our students will receive an education, based on high expectations that enhances their life chances and transforms lives. Fortismere students enjoy a broad, innovative curriculum where traditional academic subjects are enriched by a strong emphasis on the creative arts. All our students will access a curriculum pathway that motivates, involves and inspires them. Our teachers deliver exciting, challenging and engaging lessons which instil a lifelong love of learning. Approaches are personalised, with an emphasis on the achievement of the individual which reflects the School’s inclusive ethos.
The Latymer School is a high achieving, selective grammar school with a great tradition of success; we aim to provide a first class education for all our students. We believe that an outstanding education develops students academically, socially and morally, giving them the skills to be successful in whatever they do once they have left us. We also feel it is important to develop students outside of the classroom and offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities and trips including visits to our own residential centre in Cwm Penmachno, Wales.
Secondary education represents a major stage in the life of each young person and so we aim to work together with parents, carers, governors and the local community to support our young people; enabling them to develop and grow within this community and in building together a real sense of identity within The Latymer School.
Our motto is ‘who endeavours wins’ and that sums up the ethos we wish to build within our school community; life is not always straight forward and we encourage our students to persist, to keep trying and then success will come.
Alec Reed Academy is an all-through school in Northolt, West London, where traditional values, contemporary aspirations and creative curiosity underpin our pursuit of excellence.
Our passion is for learning. We want our students to be excited by their experience in the classroom and beyond, committed to achieving their very best and confident about their futures. The combination of passionate and talented teaching and support staff and excellent facilities create an enviable learning environment.
In September 2014, the Academy was honoured to be awarded ‘The Collins PiXL Award for achieving Outstanding Progress’ – the Academy’s improvement in examination results was recognised as outstanding nationally by Partners in Excellence.
We are proud of our ‘state of the art’ facilities that have benefited from extensive capital funding. The most recent developments include the Arc in the Primary phase and the Quad in the Secondary phase. The Academy is fortunate in that it also owns ‘Academy Fields’; a large section of fertile land and the perfect environment for outdoor learning. Extensive sports facilities including a Community Sports Centre are also enjoyed by our students, staff and members of our wider communities alike.
Our aim: to be an outstanding learning community where individuals thrive.
