Last year Brixton House (formerly Ovalhouse) relocated to a new home in Brixton, as part of the Somerleyton Road development. Opening in early 2022, the new fully accessible theatre will house studio performance spaces, a café and bar and outdoor public spaces in the heart of the community.

We collect, preserve and celebrate the histories of people of African and Caribbean descent in three ways: REFLECT: Collect and Activate The Archive collection promotes the importance of historical reflection as a powerful tool to help society learn from the past and work towards a more racially just and equitable future for all. EMPOWER: Learn and Inspire The Learning and Development team provide an educational resource for everyone who wants to ensure black history is included as part of everybody's history. IGNITE: Celebrate and Champion Through creative collaboration and strategic business partnerships the Black Cultural Archives brand fuels new creative cultural production and sparks dynamic conversations for social progress and positive change.
