British Industrial Design Association (BIDA) membership is the benchmark of best-practice for organisations, professionals and graduates working in product, interaction and service design. BIDA is committed to improving skills, knowledge and creativity. We promote the benefits of good industrial design to business, education and government. BIDA members work in education, consultancy, manufacturing and service organisations. We creatively blend behavioural, ergonomic, market and technical know-how. We plan, create and deliver outstanding design solutions. Members and their teams specialisms include creative strategy, innovative service development, product design and digital interaction. Special interest groups are focussed on improving education, on fairer public funding and on professional standards. BIDA is all about creating better futures for our members, our employers and clients. Professional (ProBIDA) and graduate (GradBIDA) are our two individual qualifications. Criteria for both are based on the benchmark UK National Standard for Industrial Design Practice, created with members help. Candidates need to demonstrate high levels of creativity, skills, knowledge and experience. ProTeamBIDA status enables groups to join at a discount and promote their consultancy, in-house team or course. Others with an interest in industrial design can also join as Affiliates.
