Welcome to the British College of Journalism. With almost a decade of producing successful graduates, our College is an industry leader in producing freelance journalists who are skilled and knowledgeable in the freelance writing market. The British College of Journalism was established in 2007, off the back of over 30 years of media experience by our directors and principals. The British College of Journalism currently offers two courses: The Professional Freelance Journalism Course and The Ultimate Travel Journalism Course. Both of these courses have been individually revised and designed to suit the needs of students living and working in the United Kingdom. These courses have been designed to accomplish three things: • To equip our students with the knowledge and skills required to become a freelance journalist either as a full or part-time career or as a profitable sideline. • To provide students with the knowledge and skills to gain entry-level employment as a journalist in mainstream media. This is achieved by helping students to build a valuable portfolio of published material which is usually the determining factor in being offered mainstream media employment. • To teach students how to write for various media platforms, pitch their ideas and see their work published. Or even to develop more general writing skills, like how to write a blog. Our courses have been created to suit the needs of our students. As part of our courses, students can work at your own pace, with no assignment deadlines and a 24 month timeframe to complete all coursework in. With no face-to-face classes, students can work from the comfort of your own home or anywhere in the world, at the times that best suits them. We also offer flexible payment plans so students can start their journalism career with peace of mind. Our friendly student services coordinators are always ready to answer any questions you may have about our courses. Find out more about ...
