Our history began in 1887 when Yamaha founder Torakusu Yamaha completed a repair job on a reed organ at a Japanese primary school. Perhaps no one thought at the time that this event would mark the beginning of 130-plus year history during which Yamaha would become a world-leading brand in musical instruments, other products, and services dear to the hearts of people everywhere. True to its slogan, “Sharing Passion & Performance,” the Yamaha Group helps enrich people’s lives day in and day out. Since our founding in 1887, we have offered the world a rich scope of products and services focused on sound and music. We want to create excitement and inspiration everywhere, joyfully highlighting music in life, education, and culture. Music for All's mission is to create, provide and expand positively life-changing experiences through music for all. Music for All is one of the largest and most influential national music education organizations in support of active music-making. Music for All is unique in that it combines programming at a national level with awareness campaigns, research and advocacy. Bands of America (BOA) and Orchestra America are programs of Music for All, with a 33-year heritage in providing spectacular educational experiences for instrumental music programs and students. Music for All is also one of the nation's leading music and arts education research, public policy and advocacy organizations, addressing the growing concern that public policies have created barriers for many schools and communities to provide music and arts programs as part of a basic education for all children. From humble beginnings in 1976 with a single summer workshop for teachers, Music for All programs are today recognized as the pinnacle of educational programming for high school instrumental music programs nationwide. Music for All's programs include fall marching band Regional Championships and the Grand National Championships. The Music for All National Festival is held each spring in Indianapolis and features the National Concert Band Festival, Orchestra America National Festival and the National Percussion Festival. Music for All is committed to expanding the role of music and the arts in education, to heightening the public's appreciation of the value of music and arts education, and to creating a positive environment for the arts through societal change. Working with leading national authorities and other non-profit organizations, Music for All invests resources and personnel in projects that expand across to public school music and arts programs, research and advocacy and public awareness efforts to support music and arts education.
