Excelcare currently has 6 board members including two service user representatives. The board members, including the service users, have a range of qualifications and experience including financial management, business management in both the private and public sectors, people management and strategic planning. The members of the board of management are: Rodney Hutcheon - Rod has an extensive career in public sector management with Centrelink, the Commonwealth Rehabilitation Service, Disability Services Qld and currently with the Central Queensland Health and Hospitals Primary Health Services. Rod has also been the coordinator of a community based aged and disability service at Centacare Rockhampton. He has been president of Excelcare Australia Inc since 24/09/2008 and a Board member since 17/09/2002. Des Quinn - Des is treasurer and CEO at Excelcare. He has been CEO of Excelcare since 29/01/1996 and has been treasurer since 17/09/2002. Des Has a background providing services to marginalized groups in both the public and non-Government sectors dating back to 1983. Helen Pearson - Helen has extensive experience in the public sector at an administration level. She was the admin manager at Excelcare for 7 years prior to her retirement in 2009. Helen is now the secretary of Excelcare as of 17/11/2010. Michael McCabe - Michael was Excelcare's secretary from 16/09/2003 until 17/11/2010. He continues to hold a position on the board He has many years in senior management positions in the Commonwealth Public Service at Centrelink. He is currently the coordinator of the Capricorn Conservation Council. Peter Callaghan - Peter is a member of the board of NDS Qld and has been chair of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Qld (Rockhampton Branch). He is widely known for his work in supporting the development of policies for the disability sector in Queensland. Peter now runs his own Business Development Consultancy.
