SeniorsPlus is Western Maine’s designated Area Agency on Aging, providing Meals on Wheels and other critical services to older adults, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers in Androscoggin, Oxford, and Franklin counties. Annually, SeniorsPlus serves 8,000 individuals and fields 101,000 inquiries. Our mission is to enrich the lives of older people and adults with disabilities, their families and communities, and to support them to make informed choices. SeniorsPlus envisions a future where all older adults and individuals with disabilities are engaged and respected while living quality, independent lives in the communities of their choice. SeniorsPlus is regularly recognized on the list of Best Places to Work in ME. The organization has 125 employees, including part-time and remote employees, and 100 volunteers. SeniorsPlus is a private non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation established in 1972 and governed by a Board of Directors. Our professional and dedicated staff offers a network of support, information, services, and resources for older people and adults with special needs and their families. SeniorsPlus strives to develop collaborative, innovative approaches to bring together person-centered care (providers partnering with elders and their families to identify needs/preferences), the “Thriving in Place” initiative, and an outcome of a healthcare system in which patients are more engaged in their decisions. In addition to being a critical source of information, resource-connecting, and education to people in Western Maine, we provide care coordination for home- and community-based services statewide (SeniorsPlus is contracted with the State to provide home care coordination across Maine). Company headquarters are in Lewiston, Maine, with satellite offices in Norway and Wilton.

Central Boston Elder Services, a non-profit corporation, helps Boston area seniors remain in their homes by providing short and long-term care. Programs and services are offered to help seniors remain self-sufficient and are available to residents living in the Boston neighborhoods of Allston, Back Bay, Fenway, Mission Hill, North Dorchester, North Jamaica Plain, South End, and Roxbury. Since 1974 Central Boston Elder Services has been helping seniors live independently, and with dignity. Extensive in-home services, ranging from personal care to home-delivered meals are available. Eligibility for services is based on a sliding scale and is determined by age, income, and need. Most Boston residents qualify to receive services at little or no charge. Funding for Central Boston Elder Services is received primarily from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs and through private donations and foundations. Professionally staffed and managed, Central Boston Elder Services is governed by an elected board of elders and health care professionals.

We are the Metropolitan Area Agency on Aging, a leader, advocate, and partner in the seven-county Twin Cities metropolitan region. We support communities, health care, individuals, caregivers and others to help the population age successfully, living independently longer in their communities. MAAA has an integrated system of information, assistance, education, services and facility-to-home support. As a regional agency, MAAA delivers Senior Linkage Line® services in partnership with the Minnesota Board on Aging.
