BrightWay was founded in 2005 by Charlene McMillan with one mission; to help new Michigan entrepeneurs succeed and prosper, contribute to our state's economic growth and business diversity, and reduce our dependence on the auto industry. You see, in 2005, auto companies were beginning to lay off workers and many were taking their "packages" and starting businesses of their own. Perhaps they were following a lifelong passion, or continuing in the same field, only this time on their terms. In either case they were going to need help getting the word out so new customers could find them. They were going to need help marketing their companies. However, since they were just starting out, they needed help that was professional, effective (it had to work and fast!) and affordable. So after a 20 year career in computer information technology and sales, Charlene decided this was both her 'personal mission' and a genuine opportunity to 'give back' to the business community that she felt so connected to. She was going to leverage the sales and technology skills acquired over a 20 year career to help these new business owners market their companies expertly and affordably. BrightWay would help them work smarter...not harder. How? By leveraging technology and the Internet.
